1. Increase nutrient intake

If you are breastfeeding you need to get adequate nutrients to produce milk and maintain your health.

Increasing your intake of nutrients can help keep your hair strong, which may prevent hair loss. In contrast, not getting enough vitamins and minerals can worsen hair loss.

The nutrients that you need to increase your consumption of are the following:

  • Protein: which is one of the building blocks of hair, can be obtained from meat, dairy products, fish, eggs, and nuts.
  • Iron: Iron helps prevent hair loss. It can be obtained from red meat, fish, chicken, lentils, kale, and broccoli.
  • Vitamin C: which helps absorb iron and produce collagen that strengthens your hair strands.It can be obtained from berries, broccoli, oranges, and strawberries.
